A 79-year-old woman at a Skilled Nursing Facility with Alzheimer’s disease suffered from malnourishment and dehydration when care givers failed to ensure she ate and had fluids during her 3 ½ month stay at facility. Eventually, she was taken to the emergency department with major complications related to lack of food and water. She never recovered from the near death experience, passing away four months later.  Case settled for $600,000
